The foundation of Buddhism is linked up with the realization of absolute truth or Paramattha Saccathrough the development of Wisdom (skt.prajñā). The fundamental teachings of the Buddha include the four noble truths, the eightfold path, dependent origination, the concept of Karma and re-incarnation and then the ultimate realization of Nibbāna.  In ancient times, especially during the reign of Emperor Asoka in the 3^rd century BCE, the teachings of Buddhism were propagated throughout the Indian subcontinent, in Central Asia, to the borders of Greece and Egypt and throughout South-East and East Asia. There are many things to learn about the rich Buddhist cultures and civilization in Asia.
