ProgramProblems and (Moral) Issues in Contemporary Buddhism (coming soon)

This course aims to introduce and examine controversial issues that contemporary Buddhism faces in Asia and the West. We will explore a few key themes, such as violence, war, pacifism, human rights, medical ethics issues such as abortion and euthanasia, environmental ethics, and business concerns. We will also pay attention to social, economic, and political factors including interreligious matters that have a significant impact on Buddhist affairs. Our approach will be a critical analysis of contemporary problems and moral issues from historical, doctrinal, and ethical perspectives.

The starting date of this course will be announced soon.
